Fort Chiswell High School  Upcoming Events for Class of 2026  Saturday, May 2 from 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM at the Wytheville Meeting Center PROM: (Everyone must sign up no later than April 30. Payment is required at sign-up. you sign up must be the one you attend the Prom with. No sign-ups on Fri., May 1, 2026. $35 per junior and $35 per guest, and a signed form. FC Seniors $20 and $35 per non-senior guest & signed form. Sign up with Hillenberg: 2nd block, Second chance breakfast & 2nd lunch. Do not interrupt other classes. Picture Background will be available, but no professional photographer. Faculty will assist with picture taking. On the night of prom, the following will be observed: -No bags larger than purse/camera size, -No outside drinks or food, -No one may leave the building and re-enter the prom, -Only students signed up and approved dates will be allowed to attend, -No other students or adults will be allowed in the building.) AND After Prom Celebration at Crossroads from 11 PM - 2 AM  Tuesday, May 5: Senior Cap & Gown Photos (schedule TBD and sent out via school email; Group Photo at 11:30)  Saturday, May 9 at 6:00 PM:  WCC Graduation at Wytheville Meeting Center (For those graduates who will also graduate with their Associate’s Degree from WCC; please be dressed and ready, and arrive 45 minutes early)  Wednesday, May 13:  All Senior Materials due (Chromebooks, library checkouts, overdue fees to Mrs. Harris in the Library or Mrs. Songer in the Main Office)  Friday, May 15: Senior Class Trip to Carowinds (cost = $60 per student + does include one meal voucher; departure from FCHS at 7:00 AM sharp; the bus will not wait; bring money for meal home and other expenditures; students MUST ride the bus to receive a ticket; return approx. at 11:00 PM at FCHS; money and permission slips due back to Mr. Grimes by May 1; all monies are non-refundable)  Sunday, May 17 at 6:00 PM: Baccalaureate Service (Fort Chiswell Church of God; Officers arrive by 5:15; Graduates arrive by 5:30; Wear gowns but no caps)  Monday, May 18 at 8:30 AM:  Senior Breakfast + Elementary/Middle School Walk-thru (Please bring cap and gown for Walk-thru)  Tuesday, May 19: WCTC Graduation Practice at 9:00  AM (REQUIRED; Caps may not be decorated; wear home cap; dress business casual) + Senior Awards Night at 6:00 PM in Auditorium  Thursday, May 21: Indoor Graduation Practice (Students are REQUIRED to meet in the Cafeteria no later than 8:30 AM. If you do not attend, you will not walk on Saturday.) + WCTC Graduation at 6:00 PM (GWHS Auditorium)  Friday, May 22: Outdoor Graduation Practice (Students are REQUIRED to meet in the Cafeteria no later than 8:30 AM. If you do not attend, you will not walk on Saturday. + Senior Picnic at Claytor Lake after Outdoor Practice (Picnic Shelter #5)  Saturday, May 23 at 10:00 AM: Graduation (Assemble in Cafeteria NO LATER than 9:00 AM dressed with your cap (including tassel), gown, and accessories. No tickets or limited number of guests needed for an outdoor graduation. However, if weather does not permit us to host an outdoor graduation, a prompt decision will be made in time to adjust location and 6 tickets will be provided to seniors for guests. No confetti guns OR silly string.)

May 19: Free Physicals during school (juniors who are SOL testing will be rescheduled), May 26: Sports Banquet for Fall 2025 Season, Summer Weightlifting: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 8-10:30  (8th graders only can choose morning HS or afternoon MS times), June 27 - July 5: Dead Week (No Weightliftings), July 31: 1st Day of Practice
